Caban Nant Ddu Reviews

Natalie
Stayed in this lovely holiday let for 5 days over Christmas. I received a text from Claire on the morning we were due to check in to give us more informative details on how to get to the lodge which we found without any problems! When we got into the lodge it was lovely, clean and even decorated with a Christmas tree for us! The kids were over the moon! A hamper was left for us with information about the lodge, the surrounding area and a few treats for us aswell. We quickly made ourselves at home and absolutely loved our stay! None of us wanted to leave on the morning of check out! It was a perfect home away from home! Anything we were unsure about, I dropped a message to Claire, who responded quickly and everything was great! The views from the lodge were beautiful! I loved my morning coffee looking out at the sheep behind the garden fence! We would definitely go back and stay again! Thank you so much for a lovely stay!
Justyna
We had lovely time at Nant Ddu. Lovely views, great hot tub. Cabin catered for all our needs. Delicious eggs and lovely welcome surprise. Thank you!
Charlotte
Could not fault the lodge at all. The setting was beautiful and the lodge was well equipped and clean. There was an issue with flies, kind of expected with being on a farm, however it means you are completely unable to utilise the bifold doors or have any windows open in the nice weather. There was an issue with us receiving a noise complaint which was fine if that was the case, we were enjoying a birthday and it was before 9pm, but the way it was handled was extremely rude and when messages were sent to try and clarify the issue these were completely ignored. We also werent the only people making noise as another place was outside making noise until gone 11pm. Being a family run business we expected it to be a bit more welcoming but there wasnt even so much as a hello when we were spoken to. This is a real shame as we would have come back with family it wasnt for this.
This lodge was perfect and in an idyllic setting. Surrounded by sheep and farm fields. Very quiet neighbours and very private. The hot tub was checked and topped up regularly throughout our holiday which was very much appreciated thank you. The hot tub was perfect for our holiday, even in the rain. It was situated in a lovely enclosed area with a grass area and table and chairs and a fire pit to cook a bbq on. With sheep peeping through the fence. Bathroomshowers all just perfect for us. Plenty of living room space with dishwasher and washing machine, full sized fridge and freezer, microwave ,ironing board and iron. Adequate crockery, utensils, cooking equipment. All double glazed windows and doors, beautiful blinds. The only thing I should have asked was how to put the outside lights on. We could see them on the wall but no clue as to how they worked. The internetwifi all seemed to work perfectly for us. We expected it to be a bit poor considering where we were but we had no problems. The welcome pack and all the tea, coffee and sugar and milk came in very handy. The marshmallows and sticks were used on our last night. We made smores on the fire with the kindling and logs you left for us. You really had thought of everything. Thank you for a wonderful holiday. We will be back again next year. Paula and Neil

This was an incredible weekend away! The facilities were brilliant, the place was absolutely spotless, the hosts were so kind and lovely, especially leaving milk, butter and eggs for us. We Will definitely be recommending and visiting again.
Great location, lovely cottage. Very friendly owners. Would definitely recommend. It is a perfect place to unwind.Thank you Dawn and Steve for such a lovely holiday.I can't express enough how much we appreciate the time spent in your cabin. Loved the garden and hot tub, also the lambs peering at us added to amazing views.
The boiler for the lodge failed on one day and this was not noticed by the owners and had to be reported, this then meant there was no heating or hot water in the lodge for nearly 2 days as it took a very long time to warm back up.
Thomas
Wow, picked this holiday on purpose after doing some research. Property as in description and as can be seen in the pictures. Pictures speak for themselves. Big bonus was the dishwasher and washing machine. Hot tub was very relaxing. There is plenty of space within the property for a family of 4, plenty of space to park the cars and a big fenced off garden big enough to play frisbee football.
Catrin
Absolutely lovely place, nice owners, would definitely recommend. If we had any problems Steve was there straight away to resolve them or get us anything we needed. Had fresh eggs, butter, welsh cakes coffee and tea on arrival. The property was always nice and warm even on cooler days, The hot tub had its Daily checks and cleanse. It couldnt be any more straight forward to go to the town literally about 5 mins drive. Beautiful place with loads to see and do.
Rebecca
Beautifully clean and comfortable lodge. Great location. Loved it.
Natasha
The place was amazing and all decorated for Christmas. So clean and tidy and had everything we needed. The owner Steve even came to meet us due to us getting lost to take us there. Stunning place and welcome mince pies, milk and eggs. lovely owners and would highly recommend this
The cabin was superb. The hot tub was checked every day and was wonderful. The location was far better than imagined, the scenery and surrounding views were breathtakingly beautiful. The peace and tranquility was second to none. We cannot recommend this cabin highly enough. Perfect break for relaxation.
Amanda
Most beautiful cabin in the most amazing location, extensive views from the hut tub and the patio. Super easy to find, Dawn & Steve were on hand to maintain the hot tub, answer any questions we had and give us hits and tips on where to go. The welsh cakes, butter, fresh eggs and wine was a real nice, personal touch. The cabin was spacious, nice to have two double bedrooms. The board games came in handy on the one rainy day we had. Relaxing in the hot tub in the morning and both the evening watching the stars definitely was the icing on top of the cake. The cabin is a real credit to Dawn & Steve, thank you again for an amazing weekend.
Steven
Awesome location the views were lovely the hot tub was brill loved every min of our jolly
Michelle
The listing does not do this lodge or its owners justice. It is a stunning place with spectacular views and is ran by an extremely helpful couple. You arrive to flowers, Welsh cakes and sweets on the table and wine, butter and milk in the fridge! The owners pop round daily to check the hot tub and are at the end of the phone if you have any problems at all. We had an absolutely lovely holiday here, we can't ecommend it enough.
Amanda
What an amazing cottage. weve just returned home after a 2 week stay here From start to finish everything was perfect. what a find. there are 2 cottages side by side on the owners farmland. the neighbours are sheep who regularly came to peer over the fence, chickens and cows. the building is well insulated as we didnt hear any noises from either the other cottage or the farm. the hottub was wonderful. Steve met us on arrival and showed us around. We had milk, butter, sweets, flowers, welshcakes and fresh eggs from the farm, tea, coffee, sugar and a bottle of wine waiting for us. what a lovely welcoming surprise. thank you Steve and Dawn for everything. The cottage is 5 miles from the nearest village Rhayader and 7 miles from Llandodrid wells. There are lots of wonderful places to visit. Its the perfect place to unwind and relax. With breath taking views, wonderful walks and a lovely mountain drive to the coast. We have all enjoyed every minute of our holiday and really didnt want to leave. The phone signal was fantastic and we had 4g wherever we went, even over the mountain drive, so we didnt need wifi. It was hot while we were there, but there are ceiling fans in every room to keep it cool, for cold days and nights, theres under floor heating, which we never needed to use.If you want a break away in rural Wales, with peace and quiet, then this is the place to go. Absolutey perfect
Thoroughly enjoyed our first cabin holiday and far exceeded our expectations!
Stunning property finished to a very high standard. We were all impressed. Great location and excellent facilities loved the Hot Tub. I would definitely book again.
Hannah
Arrived late after a long drive and there was wine waiting for us chilling in the fridge and fresh eggs ready for breakfast in the morning. Loved relaxing in the hot tub and watching the lambs and birds. Stunning scenery in nearby Elan valley and dams. One of the best lodges we have stayed in, would 100 recommend!
Set in the beautiful countryside of Rhayader. . Caban Nant Ddu did not fail to impress! We stayed there with our friends and never felt like we needed more space. Everything was exceptionally clean. Steve was very friendly and helpful. On our arrival they left us a bottle of wine, butter and milk in the fridge. They also left us a bowl of fresh eggs from the farm which were very tasty. Rhayader is just a short drive up the road and has most things you would need. We went to Tesco on the day of arrival to get some essentials for the weekend and with it being a large store there wasnt anything we couldnt get, so you dont need to pack the kitchen sink. For something to do we went for a lovely walk around the dams one day and went to Aberystwyth another, and with the weather being stunning it made for a fantastic weekend away for my wifes birthday.. Overall a fantastic weekend away, we will certainly come again. If I were to pick something that let it down it would be no WiFi, theres a smart tv with Netflix n things but with no WiFi we couldnt watch it on an evening. That could also been seen as a positive if youre trying to get away from every day life so take that comment how you want lol. Will be coming back Rikki and Ella
What an amazing little find! Steve and the team went above and beyond to make our short break totally brilliant! An additional little welcome pack, fresh flowers and stunning land that we could enjoy walks on! Just perfect! Our little boy absolutely loved the hot tub! Even though the weather was pretty miserable, we still had the best week! Would absolutely go back for another visit.
Great accommodation with lovely extra touches and really nice owners.
Cabin was a little tricky to find, as it was dark when we arrived. However upon arrival, we found it warm and welcoming. There were welcome gifts and the property was well presented. The views were fantastic, and the garden was nice and private. Would definitely recommend this lodge.
Lovely lodge, very well appointed and situated in a quiet spot close to the Elan Valley. Would definitely recommend this place to others.
Zakaria
To many flies in the property but we dealt with it but other then that everything was perfect.
Fantastic break in a beautiful location. The lodge was very clean and warm. The welcoming touches on arrival were lovely.
Samantha
Booked this cottage last minute, was a tiny bit over our budget but after arriving it was clear it was worth every penny. Amazing welcome from Steve, lovely touch with the little extras left wine, eggs, milk, butter and cake. Absolutely everything we needed was in the cabin, even some board games which we got full use of. Felt so relaxed and welcome all weekend, setting was lovely. Hot tub topped it off for us! We will 100 be returning and will 100 be recommending to friends and family. If youre unsure about this cabin, book it, it is worth every penny!!! Big thanks to Dawn and Steve for an amazing weekend!
Malcolm

What a wonderful place this is! Stunning scenery and wonderful Cabin! Honestly the best holiday we have been on. Hot tub was so clean and it was fabulous to watch the Kites each evening! Our children loved the freedom of the surrounding fields and the owners couldn't do enough whilst also giving us total privacy. We will be returning with family later in the year. Do not hesitate to book this place!

A second stay just as lovely as the first. This is a gorgeous property in a fantastic location. Very close to Elan Valley and a reasonable drive to Devils Bridge and Aberystwyth. We spent our days exploring and our evenings in the hot tub watching the Kites and other birds of prey flying over. Steve and Dawn are the nicest of owners who are always a text or call away should you have any questions.
